Sweathog Behind Trial of the Century?

Perhaps we were all too distracted by the glitz and suspense to notice.  Perhaps it was the visceral compulsion to blindly see justice served no matter what the cost.  Somewhere we were all blinded to the truth and dark undertones of the Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman murders.  Hopefully we can now look on this with a dispassionate eye.

With the rush to judgment attitude firmly in place we seem to have missed an important suspect...Freddie "Boom Boom" Washington.

The slickly suave con man of the Welcome Back Kotter gang can be seen as the mastermind that hatched this fowl attempt to ensnare the Naked Gun and Capricorn One star, O.J. Simpson, in a web of intrigue and murder.  Not only that, but in conjunction with various media moguls, he brought to television the longest running public distraction since coverage of the Gulf War ended.

Unsubstantiated conjecture you say?  Yes, some may even say it is fully contrived to fill a web page.  Again, not entirely inaccurate.  However, one cannot argue against a possible Kotter connection here.  Independent testing has concluded that the gloves in the O.J. case do, in fact, fit Mr. Washington.  Not only that, but he indeed wears them to this day.

We can only sit and weep at the miscarriage of justice.  You just never know what a toothy "Hi there" can do to a society until it becomes a cornerstone in a case involving a minor celebrity.  Rumor has it O.J. may or may not have been some sort of sports figure as well.  I cannot support this through my research as I did none.

The facts are thus - Mr. Boom Boom (as he is called in his "crib" by his "homies") was linked to Nicole Brown Simpson early in the investigation.  While not a dog walker by trade, Mr. Washington tended to Nicole's pooch on many occasions, always wearing black gloves!  Can you guess where these gloves ended up making a starring appearance?  They were on a few episodes of the Bold & the Beautiful before moving onto stardom in the O.J. trial.

So what diverted the police from Freddie Washington?  Shockingly enough, Washington's former principal, Mr. Woodman, wished to avoid the painful microscope that would be placed on his administration at Buchanan High.  He also, apparently, wished to conceal his torrid yet poignant affair with Horshack.  When questioned by the police about the O.J. incident, Woodman threw the patina of doubt onto Orenthal himself!  From there the whole thing exploded.

As strange as the whole affair seemed to have been already, there is yet one more twist in this story.  Through DNA testing, conclusive proof has been fabricated proving that one of O.J.'s lawyers, Johnnie Cochran, is Freddie Washington's father.  Neither Johnnie Cochran nor Freddie Washington commented as they were long distance calls and I could not afford to waste my long distance minutes on such an old story.
